What options are available for 2020 members?

With the AFL announcing that football will return on June 11, we have outlined some choices below for members to continue to contribute and support the Sydney Swans in 2020. These options were communicated to eligible members via email on Monday, May 18.

The Sydney Swans are committed to treating all members fairly by providing compensation options to those impacted, should they wish to receive it. To view the Sydney Swans membership refund policy and COVID-19 Impact Policy, please click here.

These options are available for Sydney Swans Members with match access purchased prior to March 13, 2020.

Maintain your membership: Sydney Swans match access members can maintain their membership (including by Smart Pay members continuing to make all remaining payments) and receive 2020 BLOODS MEMBER status. This status will come with a range of new entitlements from June 1, 2020 including exclusive content, rewards and a 2020 BLOODS commemorative pin or patch to acknowledge their commitment in 2021. This status will be a permanent honour for as long the member maintains their membership. To pledge your support, please click here.

Adjust your membership: Sydney Swans match access members can adjust their level of support by pausing their payment plan (Smart Pay 10-Monthly Payment Plan members only who are up to date as at May 18, 2020) and discontinuing further payments or electing to receive a 40% reduction (full payment) on their 2020 membership payment. This reduction will be calculated on the total paid price of membership. Members will receive BLOODS SUPPORTER status, and will receive a commemorative pin or patch to acknowledge their commitment in 2021. This status will come with some new entitlements from June 1, 2020. This status will be a permanent honour for as long the member maintains their membership. Eligible members can select this option by logging in to your Swan-e Account.

Downgrade your membership: Sydney Swans match access members (excluding Interstate Supporter Members, Redback and Redback Plus Members) can downgrade their membership and receive a 75% reduction in membership payment for 2020. This reduction will be calculated on the total paid price of membership. A minimum payment of $25 per membership is required to keep the membership benefits and cover a small portion of the cost of benefits already fulfilled, including your member pack. Eligible members can select this option by logging in to your Swan-e Account.

Refund: Sydney Swans game access members can access a full refund on all payments made, less the cost of benefits already supplied, effectively terminating any further 2020 membership benefits and 2021 membership benefits including membership continuity and reserved seating. The costs of benefits already supplied will be calculated based on the type of membership held and the benefits already delivered as part of that membership, including but not limited to the member pack and events attended. This will be shared with each member individually as part of the refund process. To discuss this option, please contact Membership Support on 1300 663 819.

Access to matches
In the event that spectators may attend AFL matches later in the 2020 AFL Premiership Season, Sydney Swans members that have selected the Maintain or Adjust options will be provided with match access as part of their selected membership option.  Downgrade members may be required to pay additional fees. The Refund Option does not include match access should it become available.

You will become a 2020 Bloods Member and with that will come a suite of extra benefits which will begin rolling out from June 1. This will include some terrific offers for things such as music subscriptions, cellar door wine offers, news subscriptions and local businesses in your area(s).

PLUS a range of new Sydney Swans content including access to virtual events and member exclusives.

Bloods members will also receive a commemorative pin or patch included in your 2021 membership pack.

Your membership continuity and reserved seat (if applicable) will remain and subject to crowds being permitted to return this season, you’ll have access to Sydney Swans matches in 2020.

By selecting to adjust your membership and contributing 60% of your membership to the Club you will be honoured as a Bloods Supporter.

Your membership continuity and reserved seat (if applicable) will remain and subject to crowds being permitted to return this season, access to Sydney Swans matches in 2020.

Yes. More information will be available in the lead up to 2021 renewals and will be communicated to members via your nominated email address.

It’s likely that you will be required to opt back into your payment plan in 2021. More information will be made available to members in the lead up to 2021 renewals, including any updates to Swans Smart Pay terms and conditions.

Put simply, we need your support this year and next. To ensure our club survives and thrives into the future we need to reset each year. For this reason, we have made the decision to keep any 2020 membership contributions in the same financial year.

If you are linked to family members through your PAYMENT via a Footy Family, then yes, your option selection will be applied to all family members.

If you pay separately for your membership(s), you will need to log in to each paying members’ Swan-e Account to apply the selection for each member.

Reimbursements or refunds will take up to 28 days to return to your nominated card or account.

Yes. Your reserved seat will be placed on hold and will be available for renewal in 2021.

The impact of COVID-19 and associated community restrictions are rapidly evolving. As it stands, we don’t know when fans will be able to attend games again. Together with the AFL we will continue to follow the advice of government and medical authorities.

Yes. The AFL has advised the fixture will be released in blocks of up to 4-6 weeks, with the first block released on May 25. Please click here to view the updated fixture.

Members can make tax deductible donations to the Sydney Swans Foundation, via the Australian Sports Foundation. Donations made via the ASF will go into directly supporting the club into the future. To make a donation visit: https://asf.org.au/donate/sydney-swans-foundation/.

No, however you can make tax deductible donations to the Sydney Swans Foundation (see above).
