SYDNEY SWANS FOOTBALL CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Thank you for your application to become a registered member of the Sydney Swans Football Club.

All 2025 Sydney Swans Football Club memberships are subject to the following terms and conditions, which incorporate by reference our privacy policy and our Member Code of Conduct (Terms & Conditions).

By purchasing, renewing or using the benefit of your Sydney Swans Football Club membership (including accepting the automatic renewal of your membership in accordance with these Terms & Conditions), you are agreeing to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

By completing and submitting an application for Membership you agree (if successful) to become a Member of the Club and to be bound by the Constitution.

Us – We are the Sydney Swans Football Club Ltd. In these Terms & Conditions, we will be referred to interchangeably as Sydney Swans Football Club, Club or Us.

1. Definitions

Throughout the Terms & Conditions, you will see references to some words which are capitalised and whose definitions have the below meaning, unless the context requires otherwise.

Adult means an applicant for membership who is 18 years (inclusive) or over.

AFL Finals Series means Weeks 1 – 3 of the Toyota AFL Finals Series which is where the qualifying, elimination, semi-final and preliminary finals are played.

AFL Grand Final means the Toyota AFL Grand Final.

AFL Premiership Season means the Toyota AFL Premiership Season which is the regular home and away season in the men’s competition.

AFLW Season means the NAB AFLW Season which is the regular home and away season in the women’s competition.

Away Game means a Game in which the Sydney Swans is designated as the away team.

Business Day means a day (other than a Saturday, a Sunday or a public holiday) on which commercial banks are open for general business in Sydney.

Club means the Sydney Swans Football Club.

Companion Card means a card issued in the State or Territory by the relevant government services department to a person who meets the eligibility criteria for attendant care support in that State or Territory.

Concession Card Holder means the holder of any of the concession card types listed in the table in clause 21.3.

Concession Card Pricing means the ability to get a concession price on certain Membership Packages where the applicant member meets any of the criteria set out in clause 21 in the relevant year of membership.

Constitution means the Constitution of the Sydney Swans Ltd which can be accessed here.

Fully Ticketed Event means a match in the AFL Premiership Season that is declared by the AFL or away team as a Fully Ticketed Event.

Game means a game (or match) in the AFL Premiership Season or the AFLW Season in which the Sydney Swans are participating.

Game Day means a day (or match day) that Sydney Swans is competing in a Game.

Home Game means a Game in which Sydney Swans is designated as the home team.

In Demand Match means a match in the AFL Premiership Season or AFLW Season that is declared by the club as an In Demand Match.

Melbourne Cricket Ground will be referred to as the MCG.

Member means the individual or entity holding a Membership.

Membership means the membership package purchased, issued or used under these Terms & Conditions and includes the rights of members relevant to the classes of Members under the Constitution.

Membership Packages means the various classes of membership available to purchase.

Red Zone is a seating area at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Renewal Deadline is a defined date by which non-Smart Pay members must renew their membership.

Rollover Date is a defined date by which Smart Pay memberships are rolled over.

Sydney Swans Smart Pay is a Sydney Swans payment method whereby members can pay via monthly instalments or an upfront payment.

Sydney Cricket Ground will be referred to as the SCG.

Sydney Swans Membership Website is membership.sydneyswans.com.au.

2. Interpretation

2.1 In these Terms & Conditions, headings are inserted for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of this agreement, and unless the context otherwise requires:

(a) words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa;

(b) Words importing a gender include the other genders;

(c) If words or phrases are defined, their other grammatical forms have a corresponding meaning;

(d) A reference to a document or laws includes a reference to that document or law as amended, novated, supplemented, varied or replaced;

(e) A reference to anything listed after the word including does not limit what else is included unless expressly stated to the contrary.

3. Purchase of Membership

3.1. Membership must be applied for:

(a) in writing, including online through electronic means;

(b) over the phone, via the Sydney Swans membership team;

(c) via the renewal process set out in these Terms & Conditions; or

(d) by other means approved by the Sydney Swans in their absolute discretion, which may be varied from time to time.

3.2. Subject to the Constitution, Sydney Swans reserves the right to not accept any membership application in its absolute discretion, including where Membership Fees are outstanding, and without the requirement to give a reason.

3.3. A Sydney Swans membership fee includes a member fee component and a benefits component, both of which can be updated at the Club’s discretion. Membership fees and benefits are available on the Sydney Swans Membership website membership.sydneyswans.com.au.

3.4. Where a valid email address has been provided, the Club will confirm your membership purchase and issue you a payment confirmation electronically via email within five (5) business days or as soon as possible.

3.5. Where a Membership Package includes an option to select a Membership Pack, Swanshop Voucher/Coupon or Go Green (i.e. neither), the following applies:

(a) Member packs will be available for distribution or collection in early 2025;

(b) Swanshop Coupons will be distributed from early 2025, please refer to the Swanshop Coupons Policy;

(c) A Member who selects the Go Green option will not receive a Membership Pack or Swanshop Coupon unless they are in a milestone year in which case they will receive a milestone pin.

3.6. All Membership Packages are subject to availability. There are limited numbers of Memberships available in certain Packages. In the event that a Membership category is oversubscribed, the Club will establish a waitlist which will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

4. Term of Membership

4.1. Subject to the Terms & Conditions, your Club membership will entitle you to the benefits of Club membership from the Club’s receipt of your payment for Membership (or the first instalment if you have applied for and been approved for a Monthly Payment Plan) to:

(a) October 31 in the relevant year of purchase; or

(b) if the Membership is for or includes an AFLW membership, until the conclusion of the relevant AFLW season; or

(c) at an earlier date if your membership is cancelled or suspended in accordance with the Constitution and/or the Terms & Conditions.

5. Membership Categories

5.1. Sydney Swans offers a range of Membership Packages with Game Day access entitlements. Current Packages on offer with a list of their entitlements are listed below (see the Sydney Swans Membership Website for a full list of entitlements for each Membership Package available at membership.sydneyswans.com.au).

5.3 Sydney Swans offers a range of AFLW only Membership Packages. Current Packages on offer with a list of their entitlements are listed below (see the Sydney Swans Membership Website for a full list of entitlements for each Membership Package available at membership.sydneyswans.com.au).

5.4. Memberships that include entry to Sydney Swans home matches played at the SCG include return public transport upon presentation of a 2025 mobile member ticket, or 2025 physical card, subject to NSW Government public health orders. Other conditions apply. Visit transportnsw.info/events in advance of the match for further information.

6. Mobile Membership & Cards

6.1. Match-access Members will receive access to a mobile membership card. Members must download the official Sydney Swans App in order to access their Mobile Membership which may be required to access the venue.

6.2. Members will not receive a physical barcoded membership card. A non-barcoded physical membership card is available on request, and additional fees may apply.

7. Reserved Seat Conditions

7.1. A Member's reserved seat is only available to the Member for use at the Games specified in their Membership Package and cannot be accessed at any other time or at any other event.

7.2. Reserved seat full season members are allocated a seat at the SCG for all home matches during the relevant AFL Premiership Season.

7.3. On renewal of your Membership, Members who wish to retain their current reserved seat must follow the process set out by Sydney Swans and ensure that their Membership is renewed by the date advertised by Sydney Swans at the reserved seat deadline, which will be communicated by the Club.

8. Redeem Reserved Seat Conditions

8.1. Members with Redeem Reserved Seat access are required to redeem their reserved seat for the number of nominated matches included in their membership. Redemption of their ticket is via Ticketek using their 12-digit barcode. The reserved seat may be different for each subsequent match (where relevant).

8.2. Access to matches for Members with Redeem Reserved Seat access is not guaranteed and is subject to availability and capacity. To avoid disappointment, we strongly encourage Members to redeem their tickets at their earliest convenience.

8.3. No fees will be charged when a Member redeems a reserved seat.

9. Seat Return Program

9.1. Full season reserved seat Members who are unable to attend a match, may return their reserved seat for sale to the general public.

9.2. If the seat is sold, the member will receive a credit towards their 2026 membership. This credit is valid for the following season only. The credit amount is based on the ticket category of the membership and the location of the seat.

9.3. Once a member has returned their seat for a match, their Mobile Member Ticket will not permit access to the venue and the member waives all access to the seat for the relevant match. Seats can only be returned within the communicated timeframe. Dates will be communicated upon receiving the relevant season AFL Premiership Season fixture.

9.4. The 2025 Seat Return Credit Amounts are set out on the Sydney Swans Membership Website membership.sydneyswans.com.au.

9.5. Should venue capacity be required to be below 100% due to government health and safety restrictions, Seat Return and credit will not be available.

10. Red Zone Membership Conditions

10.1. Red Zone Memberships have access to unreserved seating in the Red Zone area at the SCG for home matches during the relevant AFL Premiership home and away season for the number of matches outlined in the package description.

10.2. The Red Zone at the SCG is located in the lower Ladies Pavilion, MA Noble Stand and Levels 2 and 4 of the Bradman Stand.

10.3. Access to matches is not guaranteed. Access is subject to availability and capacity and is on a first come, first served basis.

10.4. Red Zone Members can upgrade to a reserved seat outside of the Red Zone via Ticketek subject to availability. Members will be required to pay additional fees and charges when upgrading to a reserved seat including ticket agencies booking fees. To avoid disappointment, the Club recommends Red Zone members arrive early or reserve a seat in advance to guarantee entry, particularly at “In Demand Matches”.

10.5. Members with access to the Red Zone may be able to purchase guest passes into this area for matches at the SCG via Ticketek. The number of guest passes available per member and match is at the discretion of the Club. Guest passes are limited and may sell out in advance of the match. The ticket agency may charge a booking fee in addition to the guest pass price which is to be covered by the member.

10.6. Red Zone Members may be required to upgrade to a reserved seat at additional cost to attend selected matches at the Club’s discretion where the Club deems a match to be an “In Demand Match”. The Club reserves the right to charge Red Zone Members additional fees for match access into the Red Zone for matches deemed or declared as an “In Demand Match”.

10.7. Red Zone Members must comply with SCG conditions of entry, including dress regulations (sydneycricketground.com.au) for access to all home games at the SCG. Members may be denied entry to the venue if they do not meet SCG conditions of entry, including dress regulations. Limited reserved seat upgrades into areas of the SCG without dress regulations may be available for purchase from the Sydney Swans Membership Support Office at the SCG (subject to availability).

11. General Admission Members Conditions

11.1. The following General Admission conditions apply to the General Admission areas at the SCG, MCG and Marvel Stadium.

11.2. The General Admission area at the SCG is located in Bays 14-18 of the Victor Trumper Stand. The General Admission area at the MCG and Marvel Stadium is determined by the home club.

11.3. Access to matches is not guaranteed. Access is subject to availability and capacity and is on a first come, first served basis.

11.4. General Admission Members may upgrade to a reserved seat outside of General Admission via Ticketek, subject to availability. Members will be required to pay additional fees and charges when upgrading to a reserved seat including ticket agencies booking fees. The Club recommends General Admission Members arrive early or reserve a seat in advance to guarantee entry, particularly at high demand matches.

11.5. General Admission Members may be required to upgrade to a reserved seat at additional cost to attend selected matches at the Club’s discretion where the Club deems a match to be an “In Demand Match”. The Club reserves the right to charge General Admission Members additional fees for match access into General Admission for matches deemed or declared as an “In Demand Match”.

12. Swans Pass Conditions

12.1. Swans Pass Memberships includes 11 flexible tickets to be used in the relevant season at SCG home games. A member can choose to use 11 tickets at one game, or 1 ticket at each game, or any variation between these two options.

12.2. The General Admission Member Conditions in clause 11 otherwise apply to Swans Pass Members.

13. AFL Reserve Conditions


13.1. If a Membership Package entitles a Member to access to the AFL Reserve for matches at the MCG and Marvel, the following applies:

13.2 The location of the AFL Reserve is determined by the venue (MCG and Marvel Stadium).

13.3 Access to matches is not guaranteed. Access is subject to availability and capacity.

13.4 Members have the option to upgrade to a reserve seat within the AFL Reserve. Members will be required to pay additional fees and charges when upgrading to a reserved seat including ticket agencies booking fees. The Club recommends members arrive early or reserve a seat in advance to guarantee entry, particularly at high demand matches.

13.5 Members may be required to upgrade to a reserve seat within the AFL Reserve if the match is designated as a “Fully Ticketed Event”. Additional fees will apply for match access into the AFL Reserve for “Fully Ticketed Events”.

14. Interstate Membership

14.1. Interstate members have access to purchase a reserved seat at a Sydney Swans away match played in their home state if fixtured in the following states; WA, SA, TAS, QLD, NT, ACT. Access to purchase is not guaranteed and is subject to capacity and availability. If tickets are limited, a ballot may be conducted. Tickets will be purchased through the ticketing agent. Transaction fees may apply.

14.2. Interstate members also have access to unreserved seating areas for matches in Sydney as outlined in their package description. For Interstate members with Premiership Club, SCG access will be in the Red Zone. Please refer to Red Zone Member Conditions in clause 10 for further information regarding Red Zone access. For Interstate members without Premiership Club, SCG access will be in General Admission. Please refer to General Admission Member Conditions in clause 11 for further information regarding General Admission access.

15. Non-Access Membership

15.1. Non-access membership does not include access to Sydney Swans games.

15.2. If available, tickets to Swans home games at the SCG can be purchased by non-access members using the member number of non-access memberships via Ticketek with a 15% discount for reserved seating.

16. BLOOD 5 Membership

16.1. BLOOD 5 membership is available by invitation only to selected members. Membership is valid for five seasons from the date of purchase and is non-transferable.

16.2. Member benefits will be supplied for each year of the membership, in line with the benefits outlined in the product description on the Sydney Swans Membership Website. Should inclusions change or become unavailable over the five-year period, all efforts will be made to provide equivalent value but that cannot be guaranteed.

16.3. BLOOD 5 Membership is limited to 1,000 members in NSW and 1,000 in Victoria. The state of issue is determined by the membership package purchased and not by residential address.

17. Cheer Squad Conditions


17.1. Cheer Squad Members have access to the designated reserved Cheer Squad area on match day. This Cheer Squad area is in Bay 17 at the SCG. For matches at the MCG or Marvel Stadium, the Cheer Squad area is subject to change pending opposition. This area is an alcohol-free family area.

17.2. Access to the designated cheer squad bays is not guaranteed and is subject to capacity. Where capacity is reached, a Cheer Squad member holds general admission access to the relevant venue and the general admission conditions in clause 11 apply.

17.3. Members will be asked to contribute to Cheer Squad responsibilities including banner making and match day duties.

17.4. For Finals and Grand Final ticketing benefits with the Cheer Squad, should demand exceed capacity, ticketing will resort to a ballot process run by the Club. Priority will be given to those who:
(a) Actively contribute to Cheer Squad responsibilities; and/or
(b) Attend a minimum of 80% of matches at the SCG in the relevant season for NSW-based members;
(c) Attend a minimum of 80% of Sydney Swans matches at the MCG or Marvel Stadium for VIC-based members.

17.5. Should a Cheer Squad member miss out on Grand Final ticketing benefits within the Cheer Squad, they will receive Grand Final Priority 2 access unless they hold a Premiership Club membership in which case they will receive Grand Final Priority 1 access.

17.6. A condition precedent to holding a Cheer Squad Membership is that the Member must agree to be bound by the Sydney Swans Official Cheer Squad Code of Conduct and submit a valid Working with Children Check.

17.7. The Sydney Swans Official Cheer Squad Code of Conduct is designed to make the Sydney Swans Cheer Squad a pleasant, safe and friendly environment. Failure to comply with terms outlined in the Sydney Swans Cheer Squad Official Code of Conduct may result in suspension of Cheer Squad membership or the forfeit of Club membership privileges and the loss of membership at the Club’s absolute discretion.

18. Auskick Junior Membership

18.1. The Auskick Junior Membership is provided to each 2025 Community/Club NAB AFL Auskick participant that nominates his/her AFL Club of support (Club) at the time of registration, unless the participant opts out.

18.2. If a recipient of the Auskick Junior Membership elects to change the Club originally selected, the original Club membership will be cancelled. A new Club membership will only be provided at the discretion of the AFL.

18.3. Auskick Junior Membership is not transferable, cannot be resold and is non-refundable. Auskick Junior Membership is subject to all other terms and conditions of the Club’s membership.

18.4. The Club and/or AFL reserves the right to cancel any Auskick Junior Membership without a refund where a member is deemed by the Club and/or AFL to have breached any of these membership Terms & Conditions.

19. AFLW Membership Conditions

19.1. Members can purchase AFLW Membership Packages which provide the Member with General Admission access to the number of AFLW Games in the relevant Membership Package purchased during the AFLW Season.

19.2. All General Admission areas for AFLW venues are determined by the home club and relevant venue. General Admissions conditions set out in Clause 11.3 otherwise apply including that access to matches is not guaranteed.

19.3. If the AFL determines that an AFLW Game is to be designated as an "In Demand Match", Members will need to follow the process in clause 11.5.

19.4. Where an AFLW match is played in conjunction with a match during the AFL Finals Series (double header), members will require a ticket or eligible access membership for the AFL Finals Series game. AFLW admission membership will not provide access to these matches.

19.5. Children under 18 years have access to free entry to AFLW matches. To gain entry to a venue, a ticket must be redeemed from the ticket provider. No additional fees will be charged.

20. Membership Package Price Classifications

20.1. Adult: Each Adult will pay full price for Membership Packages unless they meet the criteria for Concession Pricing.

20.2. Junior: To be eligible for a Junior AFL Membership, the applicant must be under the age of 15 as at January 1, 2025. To be eligible for a Junior AFLW membership, the applicant must be under the age of 18 as at January 1, 2025.

20.3. Child: Juniors under 5 years of age as at January 1, 2025 are allowed to attend matches without a Club membership, however, they must not occupy a seat at that match (subject to capacity and venue/AFL conditions of entry).

20.4. Youth: To be eligible for a Youth membership, the applicant must be aged 15 – 18 as at January 1, 2025.

20.5. Family: Family Membership pricing is available under some Membership Packages and this includes 2 adults and 2 juniors for reserved seat products or 2 adults and up to 4 juniors for unreserved products unless otherwise specified.

21. Concession Pricing Criteria

21.1. A Member who meets any of the following criteria is eligible for concession pricing under any Membership Package which offers Concession Pricing in the relevant year of membership:
(a) a student; or
(b) an eligible Concession Card Holder.

21.2. Any Member eligible for a Sydney Swans Concession Membership may be required to provide a copy of their concession at the time of purchase. Members in this membership category may also be required to present proof of their concession upon entry to the venue on match day(s).

21.3. Concession Pricing will be available to Sydney Swans members holding the following pension/concession cards for the duration of the relevant AFL Premiership season:

21.4. Dependents listed on the pension card are not eligible for a concession membership unless they hold their own pension/concession card.

21.5. Student refers to people studying full-time who are over the age of 18 as at January 1, 2025. Full-time students 18 years and under may also qualify in the junior or youth pricing classifications. When applying for or renewing a student concession membership, you may be required to supply proof of your full-time study by submitting a copy of your 2025 student card or a photocopy of a stamped, receipted 2025 enrolment form from your education institution.

21.6. Concession Card Holders who renew their Sydney Swans concession membership at the adult fee will be required to lodge their concession request by close of business on May 31, 2025 to obtain the appropriate refund. Refund requests and proof of concession received after this time will not be accepted.

21.7. The Sydney Swans are an affiliate of the Companion Card program and the Sydney Swans agree to provide an equivalent complimentary membership to any Member holding a Companion Card (Companion Card Holder) at no charge (Companion Complimentary Membership). This Companion Complimentary Membership is only available in Membership Packages that have match day access and will be issued in the same category of membership as the Companion Card Holder to enable their carer to access matches which the Companion Card Holder also attends. The Companion Complimentary Membership will be issued in the name of the carer only once the Companion Card Holder has provided a certified copy of the Companion Card to the Sydney Swans.

22. Premiership Club Upgrade

22.1. Eligible members may purchase a Premiership Club Upgrade which guarantees Members the opportunity to purchase a ticket to the AFL Grand Final, should the Sydney Swans participate.

22.2. Premiership Club Members are required to follow the process outlined in Clause 23 of these Terms & Conditions to access tickets to the AFL Grand Final.

22.3. Members purchasing a Premiership Club Upgrade or renewing members who miss the designated Renewal Deadline for Premiership Club must pay the joining fee. The joining fee is a one-off fee provided the member renews their Premiership Club membership by the provided Renewal Deadline each season.

22.4. The joining fee is applicable to Adult, Concession and Youth members and will be published on the Sydney Swans Membership Website membership.sydneyswans.com.au. No joining fee will be charged for Junior members.

22.5. Premiership Club Upgrades may not be purchased after July 31 in the relevant season unless sold out prior. The price of Premiership Club upgrades are published on the Sydney Swans Membership Website and are subject to increase at the Club’s discretion from March 31 in the relevant season.

23. AFL Finals Series entitlements

23.1. Each member’s access in every membership category to the AFL Finals Series matches will be determined by the Club as it deems appropriate in accordance with their respective membership category and corresponding entitlements.

23.2. Where the Membership Package purchased by a Member indicates that the Member has access to purchase a ticket to a match in the AFL Finals Series in which Sydney Swans is competing (Sydney Swans Finals Series Matches), the eligible Member will have a window of access to purchase tickets to Sydney Swans Finals Series Matches prior to tickets going on sale to the general public (AFL Finals Series Presale). Refer to your Membership Package and clause 5 of these Terms & Conditions.

23.3. Every eligible Member who wishes to participate in the AFL Finals Series Presale must follow the process determined by the AFL, Ticketek and Sydney Swans and communicated to the Member. It is incumbent on Members to ensure that Sydney Swans has an up-to-date email address for the Member. This process will include a registration period and failure to register will mean that you no longer have access to the AFL Finals Series Presale. Further terms and conditions may be imposed. Please note, any Member who has membership fees in arrears at the time that AFL Finals Series Presale is open, will be ineligible to purchase tickets.

23.4. Access to any match in the Sydney Swans AFL Finals Series Matches is not guaranteed and is subject to availability and capacity.

23.5. Should a membership be suspended for any reason during the season or should a member fail to comply with Sydney Swans Smart Pay instalments, that member will waive their right to access a ticket for any Sydney Swans Finals Series Match.

24. Access to Purchase an AFL Grand Final Ticket

24.1. The priority group assigned to the Membership Package purchased by a Member (if any) determines the members access to purchase an AFL Grand Final Ticket in circumstances where:
(a) Sydney Swans is competing in the AFL Grand Final; and
(b) the AFL and MCG has deemed that unrestricted capacity is available.

24.2. Subject to clause 24.1 above, Members who have been assigned Priority 1 Access will be guaranteed access to purchase an AFL Grand Final Ticket provided that:
(a) the Member follows the instructions, including the registration process provided by the AFL or Sydney Swans strictly within the advertised time, which usually involves registering via Ticketek; and
(b) the Member does not have any membership fees in arrears.

24.3. Subject to clause 24.1 above, Members who have been assigned Priority 2 Access may have access to purchase an AFL Grand Final Ticket provided that:
(a) The Member follows the instructions, including the registration process provided by the AFL or Sydney Swans strictly within the advertised time, which usually involves registering via Ticketek; and
(b) the Member does not have any membership fees in arrears.

24.4. Members with Priority 2 Access are not guaranteed access to an AFL Grand Final Ticket.

24.5. Subject to clause 24.1 above, Members who have been assigned Priority 3 Access may have access to purchase an AFL Grand Final Ticket provided that:
(a) The Member follows the instructions, including the registration process provided by the AFL or Sydney Swans strictly within the advertised time, which usually involves registering via Ticketek; and
(b) the Member does not have any membership fees in arrears.

24.6. Members with Priority 3 Access are not guaranteed access to an AFL Grand Final Ticket.

24.7. The Category of the AFL Grand Final Ticket that a Member will be allocated should they be successful in their purchase of an AFL Grand Final Ticket and the seat allocated to the Member is not guaranteed.

24.8. Members may only purchase one AFL Grand Final Ticket per valid membership in the same category as their membership (for example, an adult must buy an adult ticket).

24.9. Should a membership be suspended for any reason during the season or should a member fail to comply with Sydney Swans Smart Pay instalments, that member will waive their right to access a ticket for the AFL Grand Final.

25. General Conditions during the AFL Finals Series and AFL Grand Final

25.1. For the avoidance of doubt, any Member who has a regular reserved seat during the AFL Premiership Season will not have access to that reserved seat during the entire AFL Finals Series.

25.2. The price of any ticket for AFL Finals Series and/or for the AFL Grand Final purchased by a Member and associated booking and transaction fees is not included in any Members Package or Premiership Club upgrade pricing and is an additional cost to the Member.

26. AFLW Finals Series and Grand Final

26.1. AFLW Members will be entitled to access tickets to Sydney Swans AFLW Finals Series and the AFLW Grand Final. The Club will communicate information relating to Members’ access to AFLW Finals Series matches should the Club be participating.

27. Transfer of Mobile Membership Tickets

27.1. Members with match access are entitled to transfer a ticket for a match day to which they have access to any recipient who is eligible for the same price category as the Member (for example, a junior member can transfer their membership to a child who is also under the age of 15 as at January 1, 2025).

27.2. Should a recipient of a ticket for a match day under clause 27.1 not be eligible for the same price category as the Member (for example, if an adult wishes to use a junior membership), an upgrade pass can be purchased prior to match day. See Sydney Swans Membership Website membership.sydneyswans.com.au for prices.

27.3. The recipient of the ticket will need to scan the member card and present the upgrade confirmation at the gate to be allowed entry.

27.4. A recipient under clause 27.2 will not be entitled to any other membership entitlements.

28. No On-selling

28.1. Club memberships or tickets may not, without the prior written consent of the Club, be on-sold or offered for resale (including via online auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer.

28.2. If a ticket is on-sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled by the Club without a refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission. Penalties apply (including, but not limited to, cancellation of any offending Member’s Club Membership without a refund).

29. Membership Upgrades for Members with reciprocal rights


29.1. By purchasing a Swans membership via the AFL, MCC or SCG Trust, the member consents to their personal details being provided to the Club, so that the Club can contact them, for any reason including in relation to membership pack fulfilment and finals access.

29.2. AFL members may nominate the Sydney Swans as their club of support. AFL Members who have nominated the Sydney Swans as their club of support may purchase a club reserved seat membership upgrade by contacting Sydney Swans Membership Support.

29.3. MCC members may purchase a club upgrade through the MCC.

29.4. SCG Trust members and those on the SCG Trust waitlist may purchase a Sydney Swans exclusive membership available only to SCG Trust members and waitlist, by contacting Sydney Swans Membership Support.

30. Payment of Membership Packages

30.1. Members can make payment of their Club Membership Fee in full via:

(a) VISA, MasterCard and Eftpos Debit Card;

(b) American Express or Diners Club (for full payment over the phone only) which will incur an additional 3.0%; or

(c) Cheque, Cash or Money Order in person.

30.2. Certain Membership Packages allow for Members to apply to pay their Membership Fees by monthly instalments or an upfront payment using Sydney Swans Smart Pay in accordance with clause 31 and 32 below.

30.3. Except where expressly stated otherwise, the prices for all Membership Packages include GST.

30.4. The Club expects all memberships to be paid in full annually. If for whatever reason the member has not paid the entirety of their membership amount, it will be held on account until such a time as the member can pay the outstanding balance. The Club will not accept any new membership applications from Members with outstanding amounts from previous seasons still owed. It is the Member’s responsibility to pay the total owed amount before purchasing a new membership.

31. Sydney Swans Smart Pay

31.1. To be eligible for Sydney Swans Smart Pay, the member must hold a valid email address or mobile phone number and must purchase their Membership using a valid VISA or MasterCard.

31.2. If a Member elects to pay their Membership Fees using Sydney Swans Smart Pay, that Member authorises Sydney Swans to debit the applicable instalment from the credit or debit card nominated by the Member on:
(a) November 20, 2024 for all upfront payments of Membership Fees;
(b) the 20th of each applicable month (or the closest business day if the 20th is a weekend or public holiday), for Sydney Swans Monthly Payment Plan instalments.

31.3. Where a payment fails to clear on the applicable payment date, further attempts will be made to clear the funds until successfully processed.

31.4. It is each Member’s responsibility to ensure that the account details the Member has provided are correct and that the Member has sufficient cleared funds available in the nominated account to meet any payment that is due on a scheduled payment date.

31.5. The Club may suspend or cancel a membership if, on two consecutive occasions, the drawing is dishonoured by the member’s financial institution. A Member will be notified by email or SMS if Sydney Swans suspends or cancels their Membership and the Member’s access will be blocked for Games until the Membership fees are brought up to date and the Member will not have access to any Membership entitlements. Please note that at least 24 hours will be needed to reinstate a Membership once payment is received. Members affected will have their seat returned for resale at each game and if their payments are brought up to account on Game Day, will be issued with a different seat for that Game.

31.6. Sydney Swans may refer the collection of any outstanding Membership Fees to an external collection agency if, on two consecutive occasions, payment of Membership fees is dishonoured by the Member’s financial institution.

31.7. If a Member believes that a Sydney Swans Smart Pay withdrawal has been initiated incorrectly, please contact Membership Support at membership.sydneyswans.com.au. If we cannot substantiate the reason for drawing, you will receive a full refund of the incorrect withdrawal amount.

31.8. Any member who has elected to pay their Membership Fees using Sydney Swans Smart Pay agrees that their membership will automatically renew from year to year in accordance with the automatic renewal process in clause 33 until such time as the member opts out. A member will receive notice in writing via email or direct mail of the automatic renewal each season 30 days prior to the first Sydney Swans Smart Pay instalment.

31.9. A Member can opt out of Sydney Swans Smart Pay at the conclusion of their last instalment and prior to the first instalment for the following AFL Premiership Season or AFLW Season by logging in to the Swans Account at membership.sydneyswans.com.au or in writing by email or post using the contact details available at membership.sydneyswans.com.au. All due payments must be complete at the time of opting out.

31.10. If a Member misses the deadline to opt out for the relevant season, please contact Membership Support at membership.sydneyswans.com.au.

32. Sydney Swans Monthly Payment Plan

32.1. A Member can elect to pay certain Membership Packages by nominating to pay under the Sydney Swans Monthly Payment Plan (see the conditions relating to the Membership Package selected to check eligibility) in 10 equal monthly instalments.

32.2. Requisite payments will be processed in ten equal monthly payments on the 20th of every month, commencing on 20th November in the year prior to the relevant AFL Premiership Season or AFLW Competition and concluding on 20th August in the year of the relevant AFL Premiership Season or AFLW Competition.

32.3. If a Member applies for the Sydney Swans Monthly Payment Plan after the first scheduled payment listed in Clause 31.2 then the first instalment due will be equal to the sum of monies payable to bring the amounts payable in line with the standard payment schedule. As an example, if you join in December, your first instalment will have an additional 1 x months included on it.

32.4. A Member can opt out of the Sydney Swans Monthly Payment Plan in accordance with clause 31.9 above.

32.5. As the season progresses, the Club may introduce new Sydney Swans Smart Pay monthly plan options of 8 instalments or less.

33. Automatic Renewal of Membership

33.1. Any Member who has elected to pay their Membership Fees using Sydney Swans Smart Pay (either upfront or monthly payment plan) agrees their membership will automatically renew from year to year (Automatic Renewal of Membership).

33.2. Under the Automatic Renewal of Membership, Members authorise Sydney Swans to renew their Membership on or after the date each year that Sydney Swans advises the Member that their membership will be renewed (Rollover Date) and the Member authorises the Club to deduct the applicable Membership fees from the nominated credit or debit card until such a time as the Member opts-out.

33.3. Sydney Swans will advise Members of any changes to the Membership Fees for the forthcoming season and any changes to the name of the Package or its entitlements at least 30 days prior to the Rollover Date.

33.4. Members who wish to change their Membership Package to a different category of Membership should notify the Club prior to the Rollover Date.

33.5. Members who elected to pay up front will have their Membership Fees withdrawn in full on 20 November in the year prior to the relevant AFL Premiership Season or AFLW Season.

33.6. For Members who are on the Sydney Swans Monthly Payment Plan, payments will continue in the same manner as outlined in clause 32.

33.7. Members can opt out of the Automatic Renewal of Membership from the conclusion of their last instalment and prior to the first instalment for the following AFL Premiership Season or AFLW Competition by logging in to the Swans Account at membership.sydneyswans.com.au or in writing by email or post using the contact details available at membership.sydneyswans.com.au. All due payments must be complete at the time of opting out.

35. Cancellation Policy

35.1. The Club reserves its right to cancel or suspend a member’s Club Membership without a refund (subject to Australian Consumer Law) where:
(a) a Member is deemed by the Club in its absolute discretion to have breached these Terms & Conditions (including, but without limitation, where that member attempts to transfer or on-sell their Club membership and/or associated benefits);
(b) the circumstances in clause 31.5 arise.

36. Member Code of Conduct

36.1. It is a condition of Membership that Members at all times uphold and comply with the Sydney Swans Member Code of Conduct when interacting with the Club (including on any website or social media platform) or attending any Sydney Swans event, function, venue or Game. The Sydney Swans Member Code of Conduct can be found here at Member Code of Conduct.

36.2. Penalties may apply to Members who breach the Sydney Swans Member Code of Conduct, including cancellation under clause 35.1.

37. Members’ Privacy

37.1. All personal information will be used, and may be disclosed, by the Club (including for promotional and marketing purposes) in accordance with the AFL and AFL Club Privacy Policy available at www.sydneyswans.com.au/privacy. By providing your personal information to the Club you agree to such use and disclosure by the Club and confirm you have read and agree to be bound by the AFL and AFL Club Privacy Policy.

37.2. In addition, members agree to the recording of your likeness and/or voice by any means (including but not limited to audio and visual recordings by television cameras and photographers) and the use of such images by the Club and its commercial partners without compensation.

37.3. Members who purchase and/or pay together may be administered by the primary member (the purchaser). Should you wish to change how your group is structured or if you would like to change the primary contact for your group, please contact Membership Support on (02) 9157 5020 or email swansmembership@sydneyswans.com.au. You may be required to provide proof of authorisation before making changes to group memberships.

38. Communications

38.1. By joining as a member and providing us with your contact information you have automatically subscribed to electronic communications via email and SMS. Should you not wish to receive communication via these methods, please contact Membership Support on (02) 9157 5020 or alternatively unsubscribe from these services by clicking on the links provided at the base of all marketing emails or by following the prompt provided by SMS. Administrative communications (including those relating to the redemption of membership benefits, renewals or payment) will be sent to members as required.

38.2. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure that personal contact details are accurate and up to date. The Club accepts no responsibility for and cannot be held responsible for communications which are not received due to a Member’s contact details being incorrect or not current or due to a Member’s privacy settings.

39. Telephone and Internet Renewals

39.1. Members may renew their Club membership over the telephone or online. By renewing over the telephone or online, you accept these Terms & Conditions of Club Membership.

40. Variation to Club Membership Terms and Conditions

40.1. The Club reserves the right, in its sole discretion to, to vary the Membership Terms and Conditions and the Member Code of Conduct from time to time without notice. The Club will communicate any change to its Membership Terms and Conditions via the Club website or by email to members. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Members will have no claim or right against the Club by reason of any change made to the Terms and Conditions of Club membership.

41. General

41.1. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, and the Member unconditionally submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts having jurisdiction in New South Wales.

41.2. Membership entitlements are subject to the policies and operational decisions imposed by the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust. Sydney Swans Limited is not liable to members for matters arising from the implementation of policies by the venue or the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust. As a Sydney Swans member, entry to the Sydney Cricket Ground is subject to the AFL’s Entry Terms and Conditions for the venue, as well as the Sydney Cricket Ground’s Conditions of Entry, including dress regulations at sydneycricketground.com.au. All venues are smoke-free. Patrons are not permitted to bring alcohol into any venue and must adhere to strict restrictions placed on alcohol consumption in designated areas at all venues. Umbrellas are not permitted to be opened anywhere within viewing areas at any time on game day.

41.3. Sydney Swans Limited reserves the right in its absolute discretion to change all or any of the membership package details. All membership packages are strictly sold subject to availability. Sydney Swans Limited reserves the right to decline or cancel membership at any time. Any such decline or cancellation does not mean there will be a refund of membership fees or benefits fees. Information contained in any marketing material forms part of these Terms & Conditions.

41.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law (including without limitation the Australian Consumer Law) the Sydney Swans shall in no circumstance be liable to a Member for any direct or consequential losses or any loss (whether direct or indirect) arising out of the Member’s purchase of or participation in Sydney Swans Membership, including without limitation from the loss or suspension of the Member’s Membership or the Member’s ability to attend all or any Sydney Swans games or enter a venue where a Sydney Swans game is occurring, except to the extent the loss is caused by Sydney Swans breach of these Terms and Conditions, its negligence or wilful default.

41.5. Information set out on the Club’s website was believed to be true and correct at the time of production and Sydney Swans and its directors and management shall not be held liable for any loss or damage arising from any inaccuracy or other defect in the information.

SYDNEY SWANS MEMBERSHIP REFUND POLICY

Membership Refunds

1. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts, modifies or limits the non-excludable guarantees and rights granted to Consumers under the Competition and Consumer Act 2001 and the Australian Consumer Laws.

2. Subject to clause 1, once a Membership has been purchased, Membership fees are non-refundable.

3. A Member who holds a reserved seat entitlement under their Membership may be entitled to a pro-rata refund, credit of the component of the Membership fee that Sydney Swans determines is applicable to address material change(s) to the benefits component in the membership schedule but will not be offered in relation to the membership component of a membership package.

4.A material change is considered to include:
4.1. A change to the fixturing of over 30% of match entitlements during the AFL Premiership Season, listed as included in the membership product at the time of purchase resulting in a member not being able to attend by matters outside of the control of the Club and outside of the control of the member and caused by an AFL or Government directive; OR
4.2. The cancellation of a ticketed Club major event listed for inclusion in a membership product where an equivalent event could not be offered as a replacement.

5. Members must apply for a refund within a reasonable timeframe within the current AFL financial year that relates to the season in question.

6. In general, the Club does not offer refunds or exchanges for a change in personal circumstances, however if you are impacted by a change to personal circumstances, financial relief may be available. Please view our Hardship Policy.

7. Any discounts or credits earned (including, but not limited to those earned via the Seat Return or Return and Earn program for reserved seat holders) are NOT refundable.

8.In the event of a change in membership product as a result of force majeure or an event outside of the control of the Club, members may not be entitled to a refund unless the following conditions are met:

8.1. Crowds are locked out by government directive for safety or health reasons or severe weather impacting over 30% of matches during the AFL Premiership Season, listed as a benefit purchased and included in the membership product at the time of purchase.

9. For all returned payments, please allow up to 28 days for your refund to be processed if you have a valid credit card on file. If you paid via another method or if your credit card is no longer valid, we will contact you to confirm your payment information.

10. The Sydney Swans will not be liable for any other losses incurred as a result of the cancellation, rescheduling or relocation of matches within the AFL Premiership Season.

SYDNEY SWANS MEMBERSHIP HARDSHIP POLICY

Financial hardship is often unexpected, can be short or long-term, and often comes as a result of a change in personal circumstances, such as injury, illness, loss of income, domestic violence or a death in the family.

A Member who has experienced a change in personal circumstances which has resulted in them experiencing financial difficulty, may qualify for financial relief.

In such circumstances, we invite Members to contact the Sydney Swans Membership Support on (02) 9157 5020 Monday to Friday 10am-4pm or via swansmembership@sydneyswans.com.au to discuss their options and/or to submit an application for financial relief with respect to their Membership.

All applications for financial relief will be reviewed by the Membership Manager and assessed on a case-by-case basis according to the value of benefits already received as part of the membership package at the date of the request.

Members may be requested to provide supporting documentation for any financial relief application.
All applications made for financial relief, including any supporting documentation provided, will be treated as confidential by the Sydney Swans.

Our priority will be to find a solution that meets your needs. Options available in instances of hardship may include:

i. Request to pause monthly payment plans, until you’re back on track
ii. Partial refunds
iii. Request to adjust interim payment terms

When contacting our Membership Support team your safety is our priority. If you identify as being in a domestic or family violence situation, our staff will check if it is safe to continue the call or correspondence before proceeding.
