All 2021 Sydney Swans Football Club memberships are subject to the following terms and conditions. By purchasing a 2021 membership product, you are agreeing to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Purchase of Membership

If you are successful in your membership application, the Club will issue membership benefits.

The membership benefits will include a membership as well as the benefits which you apply for and which are granted by the Club.

There are several classes of membership and benefits which are listed below.

The membership fee payable will be allocated by the Club between the membership itself and the benefit which are part of that membership package.

Where a valid email address has been provided, the Club will confirm your membership purchase via email within five (5) business days.

Member packs will be dispatched from February, 2021 and will take approximately 10-14 business days to arrive from issue. Upon dispatch, members will be sent an email with tracking information and further details.

Match-access members who join during the 2021 season will receive access to a mobile membership card. Members must download the official Sydney Swans App to access this card. Members will not receive a physical membership card, unless requested. Additional fees may apply for a physical membership card.

The Club reserves its right not to accept any membership application in its absolute discretion.

2. Term of Membership
Your Club membership will entitle you to the benefits of Club membership from the Club’s receipt of your membership payment to October 31, 2021, subject to the following terms and conditions.

2.1 The membership component of your membership fee is not refundable under any circumstance.

2.2 The benefits component of your membership fee may be refundable in certain circumstances as set out in the following terms and conditions and by accepting your membership you confirm that you agree to and understand that.

2.3 The cost of the Membership Component of each Membership and the cost of the Benefits Component of each Membership are available on request.

3. Membership Categories

3.1 Club Membership Categories and Entitlements

Your membership category is established by the ticket category you receive (i.e. adult, concession, youth or junior), the number of games you attend and the location of your seating.

Memberships that include entry to Sydney Swans home matches played at the SCG include return public transport upon presentation of their 2021 mobile membership card or physical membership card (if issued). Conditions apply. Visit transportnsw.info/events in advance of the match for further information.

3.1.1 Reserved Seat Membership categories

3.1.1a Full Season

Full season reserved seat members are allocated a seat at the SCG for all home matches during the 2021 AFL Premiership home and away season.

Should a full season reserved seat member be unable to attend a match, they may return their reserved seat for sale to the general public. If the seat is sold, the member will receive a credit towards their 2022 membership. The credit amount is based on the ticket category of the membership and the location of the seat. Once a member has returned their seat for a match, their membership card will not permit access to the venue and the member waives all access to the seat for the relevant match. Seats can be returned by logging in to your Swan-e Account within the communicated timeframe. Dates will be communicated in January 2021 if possible, or subject to receiving the 2021 AFL Premiership Season fixture.

2021 Seat Return Credit Amounts (credit issued per match where the seat is sold to the general public)

3.1.1b Flexi

Platinum Flexi and Gold Flexi members are allocated a seat at the SCG for the season. Match access is managed by the member in advance of each fixture.

If a member does not wish to attend a match, they must return their reserved seat within the communicated timeframe. Dates will be communicated in January 2021 if possible, or subject to receiving the 2021 AFL Premiership Season fixture. Seats can be returned by logging in to your Swan-e Account. Once a member has returned their seat for a match, their mobile membership card will not permit access to the venue and the member waives all access to the seat for the relevant match.

Members will be reminded a minimum of three (3) times to relinquish their seat booking via contact details provided including email and mobile phone if they do not intend to use the season for a match.

If the seat is not returned, this indicates a member’s intention to use the reserved seat and they will be charged the applicable match fee outlined below to the credit card on file within the 5 working days following the match.

Flexi Match Fee (applies per game where the seat is not returned)

Adult: $35.00

Should venue capacity be below 100% due to COVID-19 government health and safety restrictions or any other health and safety restriction, Flexi members will be informed about their right to attend or not attend a match and any additional booking or registration requirements to confirm match attendance if attendance is available.

Seat allocation

Members can nominate their seating preference at the time of purchase of their membership, and best efforts will be made to meet the request. Should the Club be unable to find an available seat based on the member preference, all attempts will be made to contact the member to discuss a suitable alternative.

2020 members must renew their reserved seat by January 31, 2021 to guarantee access to the same seat in 2021.

3.1.2 General Admission / Red Zone membership categories

Unreserved seat members have access to designated General Admission or Red Zone areas for the 2021 AFL Premiership home and away season for the number of matches outlined in the package description. Access may be gained to unreserved seating on a first-in, first-served basis, subject to availability. Members can upgrade to a reserved seat for an additional fee, subject to availability.

There are two unreserved seating areas at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), accessible depending on membership category:

  • Red Zone – Located in the lower Ladies Pavilion, MA Noble Stand and Levels 2 and 4 of the Bradman Stand.
  • General Admission – Located in Bays 14-18.

For Melbourne Cricket Ground (the MCG) and Marvel Stadium matches, there are two unreserved seating areas, accessible depending on membership category. The bays available will be subject to the areas taken by the opposition for its use.

  • General Admission
  • AFL Members Reserve

Additional fees and charges may apply to membership usage in General Admission, Red Zone and the AFL Members Reserve. These members’ access to matches is not guaranteed. These members’ access is subject to capacity and the Club recommends that these members arrive early or reserve a seat in advance to guarantee entry, particularly at high demand matches. Reserved seat upgrades can be purchased at Ticketek for SCG and MCG matches, and at Ticketmaster for Marvel Stadium matches, subject to availability. Additional fees apply and ticket agencies may charge a booking fee which is to be covered by the member.

SCG Dress Regulations

Dress regulations apply for all members and guests accessing the Red Zone at SCG matches. Members with access to this area are reminded of their responsibility to ensure that their own dress and that of their guests conforms to the standards required.

The following guidelines have been developed to assist members and guests:

  • Neat, smart casual dress at all times;
  • No revealing, unclean or untidy clothing or footwear is permitted including ripped jeans or thongs;
  • Generally appearance should NOT be dishevelled or unkempt;
  • Men must wear a collared shirt. A Club guernsey will be accepted in the Red Zone, but not in the Members Dining room;
  • Dress regulations apply to children over 15 years of age.

For full terms and guidelines about SCG dress regulations, please visit www.sydneycricketground.com.au.

Should a Sydney Swans member or their guest seeking to access the Red Zone fail to comply to the above stated dress regulations, they will not be permitted access into the venue and will waive their entry entitlements for that match.

Limited reserved seat upgrades into areas of the SCG without dress regulations may be available for purchase from the Sydney Swans Membership Support Office at Gate A at the SCG on match day for $17 for an adult/concession and $11 for a junior (subject to availability).

Red Zone Guest Passes
Members with access to the Red Zone are able to purchase guest passes into this area for matches at the SCG via Ticketek. The number of guest passes available per member for these members may apply at the discretion of the Club. Guest passes are limited and may sell out in advance of the match. The ticket agency may charge a booking fee in addition to the guest pass price which is to be covered by the member.

VIC Gold, VIC Silver and VIC Digital 3 membership categories

The pricing of VIC Gold, VIC Silver and VIC Digital 3 memberships as at October 19, 2020 is based on the game access entitlements listed in product benefits for each membership product. An adjustment may be made to the price of these products following the announcement of the 2021 AFL Premiership Season fixture if the number of games listed is not available. Should an adjustment be required, this will be communicated to impacted members in these membership categories and Sydney Swans will determine and communicate whether a portion of the monies paid will be returned or future payment plan instalments adjusted.

3.1.3 VIC Flexi membership category

VIC Flexi members have access to the unreserved general admission area for all Sydney Swans away matches played at the MCG and Marvel Stadium during the 2021 Premiership Season (subject to general admission conditions listed in 3.1.2).

A match fee is charged based on attendance.

Attendance is recorded by the scanning of the member’s mobile membership card at the gate on match day. If a scan is recorded, the member will be charged the applicable match fee outlined below to the credit card on file within the five (5) working days following the match.

Flexi Match Fee (applies per game)

Concession: $12.50

If any match payment fails in the five (5) working days following the match, members will be notified via email, SMS or via other channels as necessary of outstanding balances. Future match access may be blocked if outstanding balances are unpaid.

Should venue capacity be below 100% due to COVID-19 government health and safety restrictions or any other health and safety restriction, an alternative process may be communicated to Flexi members to register their match attendance.

3.1.4 Interstate membership categories

Interstate members have access to purchase a reserved seat at a Sydney Swans away match played in their home state if fixtured. Access to purchase is not guaranteed and is subject to capacity and availability. If tickets are limited, a ballot may be conducted. Tickets will be purchased through the ticketing agent. Transaction fees may apply.

Interstate members also have access to unreserved seating areas for matches in Sydney as outlined in their package description. The General Admission/Red Zone terms and conditions as outlined above apply to matches at the SCG and access to these areas is subject to availability.

3.1.6 BLOODS 5-Year membership categories

BLOODS 5-Year membership is available by invitation only to selected members. This membership is valid for five seasons from the date of purchase and is non-transferable.

Member benefits will be supplied for each year of the membership, in line with the benefits outlined in the product description. Should inclusions change or become unavailable over the five-year period, all efforts will be made to provide equivalent value but that cannot be guaranteed.

This membership is limited to 1,000 members in NSW and 1,000 in Victoria. The state of issue is determined by the membership package purchased and not by residential address.

3.1.7 Cheer Squad

Members who join the Cheer Squad have access to the designated unreserved Cheer Squad area on match day. This Cheer Squad area is in Bay 17 at the SCG. This area is an alcohol-free family area. Members will be asked to contribute to Cheer Squad responsibilities including banner making and match day duties.

To be eligible for Finals and Grand Final ticketing benefits with the Cheer Squad, a Cheer Squad member must attend a minimum of 80% of home matches actually played at the SCG or 80% of away matches actually held at the MCG or Marvel Stadium.

Cheer Squad members are bound by the Cheer Squad Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is designed to make the Sydney Swans Cheer Squad a pleasant, safe and friendly environment. Members are required to conduct themselves in a respectful manner in their dealings with the Club and its representatives. Policies and procedures as set by the Club or outlined in the Cheer Squad Code of Conduct must be adhered to at all times.

Failure to comply with terms outlined in the Cheer Squad Code of Conduct may result in suspension of Cheer Squad membership or the forfeit of Club membership privileges and the loss of membership at the Club’s absolute discretion.

3.1.8 Auskick Junior Membership

The Auskick Junior Membership is provided to each 2021 Community/Club NAB AFL Auskick participant who opts into receiving an AFL Club membership at the time of registration, by nominating his/her AFL Club of support (Club).

If a recipient of the Auskick Junior Membership elects to change the Club originally selected, the original Club membership will be cancelled. A new Club membership will only be provided at the discretion of the AFL.

Auskick Junior Membership is not transferable, cannot be resold and is non-refundable. Auskick Junior Membership is subject to all other terms and conditions of the Club’s membership.

(a) Premium members (Redback), BLOODS 5-year members and Premiership Club members are guaranteed the opportunity to purchase the best available tickets in weeks 1-3 of the finals series for all home finals. The Club guarantees these that eligible members will be able to purchase these tickets if they have given their correct contact information to the Club and if these members correctly follow  the required process within the time nominated by the Club to purchase those tickets. This will include information regarding accessing a Grand Final ticket. This information will be communicated via email and post (if no valid email is available), and on the Sydney Swans websites. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure that their contact information is correct and that they have familiarised themselves with this information.

Members will be required to follow the appropriate procedures as communicated by the Club to secure their Grand Final ticket. Members who do not follow the procedure as communicated by the Club will forfeit their right to access a Grand Final ticket.

Should the Sydney Swans qualify to play in the 2021 AFL Grand Final, each eligible member will have a different priority level for Grand Final tickets depending on the membership ticket category and package held for the 2021 season. They will be:

Also, they may not be used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer without express written permission. If a ticket is on-sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled by the Club without a refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission. Penalties apply including, but not limited to, cancellation of any offending member’s Club Membership which would be without a refund.

8. Membership Upgrades for Members with reciprocal rights

NSW or Victorian-based game-access members who pledged their full support in the 2020 season (“Bloods 2020 Members”) and who paid 100% of their membership fees prior to September 30, 2020 are eligible for a loyalty discount in the 2021 season.

Discount levels are based on tenure in 2021 (Consecutive years of membership):

6-10 year members = 7.5% discount

11-15 year members = 10% discount

16+ year members = 15% discount

The discount will only apply on renewal invoices for the equivalent game-access products. The loyalty discount will not apply if the member renews into a different product for the 2021 season. Supporter and non-game access memberships are not eligible for this discount.

Club members who consume alcohol on a match day or at official Club events are to do so responsibly. Drunkenness will not be tolerated.

The Club endorses the AFL’s stance on vilification and has zero-tolerance for members or supporters who abuse the opposition, opposition supporters, fellow members or fans, club personnel or umpires in any way deemed to be inappropriate, including on the grounds of race, religion, gender or sexuality.

COVID-19 IMPACT FOR SYDNEY SWANS 2021 MEMBERS

The impact (if any) that the COVID-19 pandemic or any other unforeseen event may have on the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season is not known. If the 2021 season is interrupted, we will provide all match-access members with a range of options to address any material reduction in the match-access benefits of membership.

Should venue capacity be below 100% due to COVID-19 government health and safety restrictions, the Club will work with venues, the AFL and opposition clubs to provide access for Club members. Where possible, Club member access will be prioritised based on 2021 package purchased:

Priority 1: NSW full-season members, BLOOD5 5-year members, VIC AFL Platinum, VIC Gold and VIC Dual Season members

Priority 2: Flexi members

Priority 3: Reduced-access members (including Interstate Members)

Should venue capacity be below 100% due to COVID-19 government health and safety restrictions, members may be required to redeem or register their attendance in advance of a fixture or enter a ballot to secure a seat. As a result of any reduction in capacity, members may not have access to seating in their usual area of the ground. Additional policies may apply, including but not limited to the introduction of entry protocols and waivers to ensure patron safety. Any such lack of access to seating in a member’s usual area will not entitle the member to any refund.

Any changes to match access will be communicated to members via email or SMS in advance of the fixture. Members are strongly encouraged to ensure their contact details are up to date by logging in to their Swan-e Account at membership.sydneyswans.com.au or by contacting Membership Support on (02) 9157 5020 to ensure we can keep you up to date with any changes to the season should they occur.

COVID-19 IMPACT FOR SYDNEY SWANS 2020 MEMBERS

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Federal and State Government response to it, the 2020 AFL Premiership season and Sydney Swans match access was reduced. This reduction in matches materially impacted the provision of member benefits.

The Sydney Swans presented options to match-access members who purchased their membership in advance of March 13, 2020 that had paid in full or that were paying in instalments via Sydney Swans Smart Pay on May 18, 2020. Options included the return of membership fees paid (less the cost of benefits already supplied), if requested.

If no response was received from the member, the Club relied on that non-response to indicate the member’s consent to maintain membership. In the event that a Smart Pay Member did not respond with their preferred selection, the Club relied on that non-response as the member’s consent to the Club proceeding to collect instalments in line with the Sydney Swans membership terms and conditions.

No credits or discounts will be carried into future seasons.

Should any eligible parties wish to discuss the options available to 2020 match-access members, please contact Membership Support on (02) 9157 5020 or email swansmembership@sydneyswans.com.au.
